Kiwi =
  • A person who is born in New Zealand; or has been granted permanent residence in New Zealand.
  • A flightless, tailless bird with hair-like feathers and a long down curved bill, native to New Zealand.
Kiwifruit = a small brown furry fruit, that is green inside with black small seeds. In many countries this fruit is known as a “kiwi” however in New Zealand is known as “kiwifruit”.
Smoko= short break at work
Gidday= hello
Mate = friend
Loo = toilet
Bathroom = room with shower, bath and basin
Toilet = room with toilet in it
Good as gold = great
She’ll be right mate = it is ok, my friend
Hokey pokey = sweet, hard toffee like candy or treat
Okey dokey = okay
Boot =
  • a high shoe
  • the storage area at the back of car, sometimes known as a trunk
sweet as = brilliant
box of fluffy ducks = excellent, happy, brilliant
